Welcome to Curo-π4
With great pleasure, I would like to invite all scientists working on the curved π-molecules and related fields to join the biennial CURO-π4 conference on September 27-29, 2022 in Beijing China. This conference series started in 2014 in Kyoto Japan, organized by Professors Shigeru Yamago, Graham Bodwell and Hiroyuki Isobe. The continuing tradition of gathering some of the most active scholars in the field has been witnessed by the successful CURO-π2 (2016, Oregon USA) organized by Professor Ramesh Jasti and CURO-π3 (2018, Oxford UK) organized by Professor Harry Anderson.
The research of structurally counterintuitive curved π-molecules, in contrast to the conventional flat ones requires creative molecular design and synthetic execution. Molecules synthesized in this field provide a rich source for functional organic materials. Exploration of these unnatural curved π-molecules will lead us to where no man has gone before. I hope this conference will provide a fruitful platform to establish worldwide connections and to share the latest, inspiring discoveries.
The logo of the upcoming CURO-π4 contains four curved “π” letters assembling into two Chinese characters “北大” which means “Peking University”, and is part of the logo of our university designed by Xun Lu in 1917. As the logo indicates, Curo-π4@PKU, locations of the lecture, poster, banquet and most accommodations will be at Peking university campus.
